The Hyatt Centric Mountain View is a modern 167-room hotel at the Village at San Antonio Center, the shopping and apartment district on San Antonio Road just over the Palo Alto line. Hyatt places its Centric hotels in busy, central locations. This one fits the idea: restaurants, shops and a cinema are steps from the door and a Caltrain station is a couple of blocks away. It also sits in the middle of Silicon Valley history, a short walk from the site of the lab where the chip industry got its start.
This profile is based on Hyatt's official page for the hotel. We do not publish prices, star ratings or reviews. For live rates, check the Hyatt Centric on Booking.com or book through Hyatt, where World of Hyatt members earn points.
Location and neighborhood
The address is 409 San Antonio Road, Mountain View, CA 94040. The hotel is part of the Village at San Antonio Center, a large mixed-use development of shops, restaurants, offices and apartments between El Camino Real and California Street. Hyatt says a wide range of restaurants, retailers and entertainment venues are steps from the front door. That includes the Alamo Drafthouse dine-in cinema, which opened in the center in June 2025. Our movie theaters guide covers it.
The Palo Alto city line is just to the north. Two Palo Alto hotels, the AC Hotel Palo Alto and Hotel Citrine, are a short drive up San Antonio Road. Downtown Palo Alto is about 4 miles northwest in a straight line. Stanford is a 15 to 20 minute drive depending on traffic.
History buffs only need a short walk along San Antonio Road. At 391 San Antonio Road, a marker notes the site of Shockley Semiconductor Laboratory, which opened there in 1956. The engineers who left it went on to found Fairchild Semiconductor and, in time, much of Silicon Valley. Our page on Shockley and the semiconductor boom tells the story.

Getting there from Caltrain and the airports
Hyatt says Caltrain is just a couple of blocks away. That is San Antonio station, about a third of a mile from the hotel in a straight line. It is two stops south of downtown Palo Alto and one stop north of Mountain View. Local and limited trains stop there; weekday express trains pass through. On weekends, every train stops.
VTA buses serve San Antonio Road and El Camino Real nearby. Our VTA bus guide explains the routes.
- From SFO: take BART to Millbrae and a southbound Caltrain that stops at San Antonio, then walk. Our SFO guide has the details.
- From SJC: take the free VTA Route 60 to Santa Clara Transit Center and Caltrain north to San Antonio. By car, SJC is the closer airport. See our SJC guide.
Hyatt's overview page does not mention an airport shuttle. Plan on Caltrain, rideshare or a rental car.
Rooms and suites
Hyatt says each of the 167 guest rooms has:
- A separate sitting area.
- Plush beds.
- A work area.
- Tech-forward decor.
- Free internet access.
The top rooms are the VIP suites, which Hyatt describes as having a king bed, a sleeper sofa, a separate sitting area and an outdoor balcony. They are the pick for families or for anyone who wants outdoor space.
Hyatt's page does not list room sizes or every bed type. Check the booking page for the room categories on sale for your dates. Hyatt says it is committed to equal access for guests with disabilities; call the hotel to confirm the specific features of accessible rooms.
Pool, fitness and work
- View on 2. A second-floor outdoor terrace with the hotel pool, a fire pit and a food and drink menu. Hyatt says you can see the Santa Cruz Mountains from there. Open daily, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Fitness. A 24-hour fitness center with cardio equipment, strength-training machines and a Peloton bike.
- Business center. Complimentary, with workstations and printers.
- Meetings. Hyatt lists meeting facilities on site.
- Digital check-in and key. Hyatt lists both, so you can skip the front desk line if you set them up before arrival.
Dining on site
Fairchilds Public House is the hotel's restaurant and bar. Hyatt describes it as casual West Coast food, served in the dining room or on an open-air terrace. It says many ingredients come from California artisans within a 50-mile radius of the hotel. Hyatt's overview does not list hours, so check with the hotel before you plan a meal.
The bigger advantage is everything around the hotel. The Village at San Antonio Center has restaurants and cafes within a short walk. The older part of San Antonio Center next door has more casual options and groceries. For a wider choice, Castro Street in downtown Mountain View is one Caltrain stop south. Our Mountain View food guide covers the area.
Parking and policies
- Parking. Hyatt lists self-parking. Its overview page gives no rate or EV charging details, so ask the hotel.
- Check-in and checkout. Not listed on the overview page. Digital check-in is available.
- Pets. Not listed on the overview page. Ask the hotel before you book if you are bringing an animal.
Hyatt's FAQ page has the full policies. Check Hyatt's page for the hotel or call before you book.
Who the Hyatt Centric suits
- Train riders who want to walk to Caltrain and still have restaurants outside the door.
- Business travelers with meetings in Mountain View, south Palo Alto or Los Altos.
- World of Hyatt members who want points near Palo Alto.
- Movie fans and shoppers who like having a cinema and stores on the same block.

It is less suited to visitors who want a quiet, residential setting or who plan to walk to Stanford. For a broader look at the area, see our Mountain View guide.
What is nearby
South Palo Alto starts just across the city line, with parks and quiet streets of Eichler homes; our South Palo Alto guide covers it. Mitchell Park, with its library, Magical Bridge Playground and dog run, is a short drive north. The Computer History Museum and Shoreline Park are about 10 to 15 minutes away by car, across Highway 101. For a hike, Pearson-Arastradero Preserve and the Stanford Dish are both within about 20 minutes. Big concerts at Shoreline Amphitheatre can push up rates across this part of Mountain View in summer, so check the calendar before you book.
Booking tips
- Book a VIP suite for space. It is the only room type Hyatt lists with a balcony and a sleeper sofa.
- Ask about parking costs. Hyatt does not publish them on its overview page.
- Check the train you need. Weekday express trains skip San Antonio, so pick a local or limited train.
- Compare nearby rates. The AC Hotel, Hotel Citrine and the El Camino Real hotels are all close by. Compare hotels near San Antonio Center on Hotels.com to find the best fit for your dates.
