About Pacific Catch
Pacific Catch is a West Coast seafood chain with a restaurant at Stanford Shopping Center, at 711 Stanford Shopping Center. Its menu draws on coastal cooking from around the Pacific: Hawaiian poke, Japanese sushi rolls, Mexican-style tacos and ceviche and grilled fish. The chain lists about ten Bay Area locations, including Mountain View, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale and two in San Francisco, plus restaurants in Southern California.
The Palo Alto restaurant is next door to Sigona's Farmers Market and Schaub's Meat Fish and Poultry. The company pitches it as a relaxed, island-flavored break from shopping. It is a sit-down restaurant with table reservations rather than a counter.
What is on the menu
Small plates make up a big part of the menu. They include a grilled salmon chowder, crispy calamari with Fresno peppers, Chilean sea bass skewers, coconut shrimp and Korean-style glazed pork ribs. Poke comes in several versions: the original ahi poke with sesame and soy, a serrano version with sriracha aioli and a guaca-poke with guacamole. Sushi options include sashimi hand rolls and rolls such as spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, California and a firecracker salmon roll. A pupu platter combines several starters for sharing.
From the grill, you pick a fish and two sides. Recent choices are barramundi from Vietnam, Verlasso salmon from Patagonia and Kona kanpachi from Hawaii, plus a spiny lobster tail. Bowls are another mainstay, such as a West Coast salmon bowl with roasted cauliflower and a brown rice and quinoa base, a Japanese wasabi poke bowl, a Mexican grill shrimp bowl and a Hawaiian teriyaki chicken bowl. Sushi bowls include a sashimi trio and a chirashi.
Larger mains include miso black cod, a barramundi with turmeric-coconut sauce, Korean barbecue, a chimichurri skirt steak, surf and turf and a warm lobster roll on Hawaiian rolls. A taco platter rounds things out. Menus change with the seasons. The company posts a downloadable allergen menu on its website.
Sourcing and sustainability
Pacific Catch makes sustainability a big part of its pitch. It says every species on the menu goes through a review of sourcing methods, stock health, environmental impact and supply chain. It follows guidance from Seafood Watch, the Aquaculture Stewardship Council, the Marine Stewardship Council and Best Aquaculture Practices. The company says it does not serve seafood rated Red by Seafood Watch, with lobster as the one exception it keeps under review.
Beyond the fish, it lists compostable utensils and straws under the Ocean Friendly Restaurants program, composting of food waste and recycling of fryer oil into biofuel. It partners with the Surfrider Foundation, the nonprofit Sea Hugger and the Mavericks Surf Awards.
Who it suits
Pacific Catch suits a relaxed lunch or dinner during a shopping trip, a family meal where some people want fish and others want chicken or steak and an early happy hour with friends. The mix of poke, rolls and grilled fish lets a table share or keep things light. For a big, formal celebration, the center has other options, but for an easy sit-down seafood meal near Stanford it covers a lot of ground.
Groups and catering
For parties, Pacific Catch books in-restaurant gatherings and runs a catering service for homes and offices. Catering covers seafood, salads, bowls, tacos and sushi that you can mix and match, plus party bundles built around its most popular dishes. The company is running a promotion for holiday gatherings booked for November and December 2026. Check the catering page for terms.
