About World Wrapps

World Wrapps is a Bay Area fast-casual chain that sells wraps, bowls and salads built on flavors from around the world. Its Stanford store is inside Stanford Shopping Center, at 180 El Camino Real, Unit 240-C. The company lists five locations: Corte Madera, Santa Clara, San Francisco, Stanford and San Ramon.

The founders are Keith Cox and Matthew Blair. According to the company's own history, they started the original World Wrapps chain 31 years ago with a few friends and brought a higher-end style of quick service to the Bay Area before "fast casual" was a common term. The company credits itself with inventing the wrapp concept and with the first spinach and tomato tortillas. Its wraps are pressed to order and its sauces are made from scratch each day.

The chain also runs fundraisers and donates catering for schools, hospitals and first responders. Its list of groups it has supported includes several in Palo Alto and at Stanford, such as Stanford Hospital, Stanford Family Medicine, Bing Nursery School and Castilleja School. Schools and nonprofits can ask the company about a fundraiser.

The menu is large. It is split into rice paper wrapps, loaded protein bowls, salads, fries and sides, surf and turf combinations, standard wrapps and bowls, nori wrapps and bowls, a vegetarian and vegan section, a kids menu, house-made drinks and desserts. Most items let you pick a protein: chicken, shrimp, steak, salmon, tofu or Beyond Meat.

  • Rice paper wrapps: the newest line, in Bangkok Basil, Umami and Satay versions, all marked gluten-free.
  • Surf and turf: pairings such as a burrito brava with steak and shrimp, chimichurri steak with salmon and a bulgogi steak and shrimp nori wrap.
  • Salads: a Chinese chopped salad, a peanut noodle salad, a Greek salad and a side Caesar.
  • Fries: loaded fries with bacon and guacamole, papas bravas, tikka fries and classic fries with a choice of seasoning and sauce.
  • Drinks: house-made beverages such as strawberry lemonade, pineapple mint agua fresca and ube horchata, listed on the catering menu.

Menus change as new items are added, so check the company's online menu for the current list.
