Treehouse Hotel Silicon Valley opened in spring 2025 as the first American outpost of Treehouse, a nature-themed hotel brand from Starwood Hotels that started in London. It sits on a landscaped campus in north Sunnyvale, between Highways 101 and 237, with 111 rooms and suites, a heated outdoor pool, a beer garden and a restaurant from chef Stephanie Izard. The look leans playful and woodsy, with cabins, patios and plenty of trees. It is about 8 miles from downtown Palo Alto, so it works best for visitors with a car or with business in the Moffett Park and north Sunnyvale tech district.

This profile is based on the hotel's official website and FAQ, checked in early November 2026, plus the May 2025 opening announcement. We do not publish star ratings or reviews. Fees are hedged because they change. For live rates, check Treehouse Silicon Valley on Booking.com or book on the hotel's site.

Getting around without a car

The nearest Caltrain stop is Sunnyvale station, next to historic Murphy Avenue, about 2 miles south. Sunnyvale is in the same Caltrain fare zone as Palo Alto and the ride takes roughly 10 to 15 minutes depending on the train. The hotel has no shuttle or house car. Its FAQ points guests to Uber, Lyft or a taxi, which makes the short hop to the station easy. The hotel also lends free bikes, which suit rides to Sunnyvale's Baylands Park and the bay trails to the north. See our Caltrain guide for fares and schedules.

Our Sunnyvale food guide, updated November 1, 2026, lists places there including Dishdash for Middle Eastern food, Meyhouse for Turkish meze, Mayan Kitchen, Ramen Seas at 173 Murphy Avenue and The Oxford Kitchen and Gastropub. Castro Street in Mountain View is a little farther west.

California's Great America and Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara are a short drive east along Highway 237 for theme park days and big games.

Who it suits

  • Business travelers with meetings in Moffett Park or north Sunnyvale.
  • Dog owners, since the hotel lists no pet fee.
  • Food-minded travelers who want a chef-driven restaurant without leaving the hotel.
  • Families who like suites, patios and a heated pool.

It is a weak fit for car-free visitors whose days are in Palo Alto or at Stanford. A room near a Caltrain station in Palo Alto or Mountain View saves a lot of time. Our near Stanford guide lists closer hotels.

Booking tips
