On this page
Stanford has two ticket operations and they do not talk to each other. Stanford Live, the university's performing arts presenter, sells concerts, dance and theater at Bing Concert Hall and other venues from a box office on Lasuen Street. Stanford Athletics sells football, basketball, volleyball and other games from an office at Stanford Stadium. Each has its own website, phone line, hours and rules. Frost Amphitheater adds a third path, since many of its summer concerts are sold through AXS.
This page explains how to buy from each, based on Stanford Live's ticket policies and Stanford Athletics' ticket and venue pages as of early November 2026. Hours and fees can change, so confirm on the official pages before you head over.
Which office sells what
| Event | Sold by | Best way to buy |
|---|---|---|
| Concerts, dance and theater at Bing Concert Hall | Stanford Live | In person at Bing to skip fees, or online |
| Stanford Live shows at other campus venues | Stanford Live | Online or by phone |
| Department of Music ensemble concerts | Stanford Live ticketing | Online; many smaller recitals are free |
| Large summer concerts at Frost Amphitheater | Often AXS | The ticket link on the event page |
| Football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, gymnastics, wrestling | Stanford Athletics | tickets.gostanford.com or 1-800-STANFORD |
| Season tickets and group sales for sports | Stanford Athletics | Phone the ticket office or email the group sales team |
If you are unsure, start with the event page. Every official Stanford listing links to the right seller.
The Stanford Live ticket office
Stanford Live runs its box office from Bing Concert Hall. Its published contact details:
- Address: 327 Lasuen Street, Stanford
- Hours: Tuesday to Friday, noon to 5 p.m.
- Phone: 650.724.2464
- Email: [email protected]
The office closes on New Year's Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. It also closes during Stanford's campus-wide break between fall and winter quarters, which in 2026 runs December 21 to January 1. If you want tickets for a January show, buy them before mid-December or online.
Three ways to buy
- Online through the Stanford Live website.
- By phone at 650.724.2464 during office hours.
- In person at the Bing ticket office.
The fee rule is worth knowing. Stanford Live says ticket office and ticketing service fees are built into the price for online and phone orders. Tickets bought in person at the office are not subject to those fees. Events by outside promoters who rent Stanford venues may carry their own fees, listed on each event page.
Stanford Live discounts
| Who | Discount | Limits |
|---|---|---|
| Youth under 18 | 25% off mainstage performances | Cabaret series excluded unless noted; must come with an adult |
| Non-Stanford students 18+ | 20% off mainstage performances | One ticket per valid student ID, checked at the door |
| Groups of 10 or more | 10% off full-price seats | One transaction; not for Department of Music events |
| Stanford Alumni Association members | 10% off single tickets | Self plus one guest; some sections and events excluded |
| Stanford staff and faculty | 10% off most regular-price tickets | Two per household; excludes Goldenvoice shows at Frost |
Discounts generally cannot be combined. Members of Stanford Live's paid membership program get ticket presales, which matters for popular shows.
Will call, exchanges and refunds
- Will call and the venue lobby open 60 minutes before a performance. Bring a valid photo ID to collect tickets.
- Doors open 30 minutes before curtain. Late arrivals are seated at a break chosen by the artists and some shows allow no late seating.
- Children of any age need their own ticket and anyone under 18 must come with an adult. Stanford Live says some shows may not suit children under five.
- Exchanges can be made by phone or online for another Stanford Live or Department of Music performance in the current season, until 11:59 p.m. the day before your show. No exchanges at the venue window.
- Donations. You can donate unused tickets back by phone up to 60 minutes before the show.
- Refunds are given only when an event is canceled.
- Sold-out shows. Stanford Live keeps an online notification list for released seats. Signing up does not guarantee a ticket.
Frost Amphitheater
Outdoor concerts at Frost Amphitheater work differently. Many are presented with outside promoters such as Goldenvoice and sold through AXS, not Ticketmaster. Stanford Live's staff discount does not apply to those Goldenvoice shows. Check each Frost event page for the ticket link and the bag rules, which are set per show.

The Stanford Athletics ticket office
Stanford Athletics lists its office on the south side of Stanford Stadium at Gate 2. Its published contacts:
- Online: tickets.gostanford.com, where service fees may apply
- Phone: 1-800-STANFORD (1-800-782-6367)
- Email: [email protected]
- Phone hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., except holidays
- Football days: the office opens three hours before kickoff
The Maples Pavilion page lists walk-up hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays, so the posted hours differ by an hour. Call ahead if you plan to arrive late in the afternoon.
What is on sale this season
In early November 2026 the athletics ticket site listed football against SMU on November 28 at Stanford Stadium, women's volleyball at Maples on November 13, 14, 20, 22 and 24. Full home slates for men's and women's basketball were also on sale. Wrestling single matches were listed at $18. Women's gymnastics meets begin January 8, 2027. Our football guide and Maples Pavilion guide cover the venues.
Game day rules
- Every fan over 24 months needs a ticket for football. For basketball, children under two can share a seat with their guardian.
- Basketball tickets are also sold on game day at the Maples windows on the north side when seats remain.
- Stanford uses a clear bag policy: one clear bag up to 12 by 6 by 12 inches plus a small clutch no larger than 4.5 by 6.5 inches.
- Pets are not allowed in Stanford Stadium. Trained service dogs are.
- Stadium concessions are cashless.
Games that need no ticket
Many Stanford sports are free. Regular season swimming and diving, men's volleyball, tennis and track meets are listed without admission. Stanford's community relations office also mentions special athletics discounts for community nonprofits and neighbors. See our free things to do at Stanford for the full list.
Avoid bad tickets
- Stanford Live will not replace tickets bought on eBay, Craigslist, StubHub or other resale sites and cannot vouch for them.
- Buy from stanford.edu, gostanford.com or the official AXS link on a Frost event page.
- Get your tickets onto your phone before you reach the gate. Athletics publishes a mobile ticketing guide.
Getting to the box offices
The Bing office is in the arts district near the Cantor Arts Center. Weekday daytime visits mean paid zone parking through ParkMobile. Evening and weekend parking in many central zones is free. For the athletics office, head for Gate 2 on the south side of Stanford Stadium. Our parking and transit guide explains zones and game day lots. Fans flying in for a big game can compare hotels near Stanford early, since game weekends fill rooms along El Camino Real.
